Expanding your stomach voluntarily doesn't seem weird. I can do it, and I know other people can too... you just flex your muscles there to make your stomach kind of form a "pouch", it makes you look fatter than you are, the opposite of sucking in your stomach basically. I'd love to see this video to clarify what you mean, because it sounds to me like it's nothing to be weirded out by.
